The purpose of this project is to develop a prototype Internet of Things based landslide monitoring system that has the advantage of providing facilities like monitoring landslides from home or anywhere using a smartphone. This project has two main parts to ensure this prototype is complete, namely software and hardware. For the hardware part, this prototype project uses soil moisture sensor, vibration sensor and ultrasonic sensor, in which all hardware are connected to the central processing unit known as Node MCU ESP32. Using the Node MCU ESP32, it provides Wi-Fi module to develop the end-point of IoT (Internet of Things) applications. The soil moisture sensor measures the soil moisture levels by capacitive sensing, vibration sensor used to sense any movement in the ground and ultrasonic sensor used to detect distance of landslide moving down. In addition, Node MCU ESP32 represents the component for the connection between project devices and smartphones with wireless Wi-Fi technology. The software of this prototype is Arduino IDE for creating commands for Node MCU ESP32. The Blynk application is for the user interface, available on smartphones users outside the home or work area receive real-time information from the smartphones.
